               Point Of Care Solution (POCT) - Tan Tock Seng Hospital
 

The POCT Test System provides the Diabetes & Endocrine Centre a platform that automates the blood test workflow and enables Hemoglobin testing to be carried out within the centre. Staffs are able to view and validate the results on their screen once available and eliminate the need to send blood samples to the hospital main laboratory for the test. These improving the efficiency greatly by reducing the work processes, mitigate human intervention and manual paper works.

The system comprise of the following modules:

Front-End (User Interface) : Lab equipment interface (ASTM D10 interface)

Patient Register
Staff register patient manually or by retrieving patient demography if it exist in the system.

Test Workflow:
Test Order,  Result Validation, Generate Result Report,  Historic Result Viewing,  Management Reports (HbA1c).

Interface gateway that communicates with Hemoglobin Testing System (Lab Instrument) via RS232 port in ASTM protocol. The gateway receives test results and processes them onto the solution.

HL7 Interface Gateway

HL7 Interface Gateway sends test results to the hospital Electronic Medical Record system (EMR) via MLLP socket in HL7 (Health Language 7) format (ORU).

Users of the system include Diabetes & Endocrine Centre nurses and Diabetes & Endocrine Centre management staffs.

   
 
                 Microbiology Laboratory Data Analysis Solution - Communicable Disease Centre Singapore  
Web-based solution developed for management and analysis of microbiology lab data: monitor incidence of resistant bacteria, antimicrobial susceptibility test results, antibiotic utilization, inter-relate pharmacy prescriptions with microbiology results.

The system comprise of the following modules:
Ad-hoc Trend Reports
• Generate multi-perspective ad-hoc trend reports of bacteria incidences in respect to patient-bed-days.
• Generate multi-perspective ad-hoc trend report of antibiotic resistant to bacteria.
• Generate scheduled and multi-perspective ad-hoc reports of antibiotic utilization in respect to patient-bed-days.
• Inter-relates pharmacy prescriptions with microbiology to allow users to compare effect of change in antibiotic usage on incidence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and antibiogram

Scheduled Reports
• Generate scheduled reports of bacteria incidences in respect to patient-bed-days based on predefined date range, location, bacteria and antibiotics.
• Generate scheduled reports of antibiotic resistant to bacteria based on predefined date range, location, bacteria and antibiotics.
• Generate scheduled reports of antibiotic utilization in respect to patient-bed-days based on date range, discipline and antibiotics.

Threshold Alert Monitor
• Monitor the daily number of new antibiotic-resistant bacteria incidence against the pre-defined threshold.
This module provides users with an applet that instantly process and generate a chart that display the number of incidences every week/everyday over a specified duration.  It also generates the mean, median, standard deviation to assist the user in setting a realistic alert threshold. If the threshold is breached, the system will email a pre-drafted email message to the predefined distribution list

This module provides users with an applet that instantly process and generate a chart that display the amount of antibiotic usage every week/everyday over a specified duration. It also generates the mean, median, standard deviation to assist the user in setting a realistic alert threshold. If the threshold is breached, the system will email a pre-drafted email message to the predefined distribution list

Infectious Disease Pharmacist Work-list
• The system generates a list of sterile site cultures and cross-check with pharmacy prescription data for antibiotics dispensed. It will highlight the antibiotic to indicate a mismatch.

Users include senior doctors, laboratory staffs and pharmacists.
                 Pandemic Flu Solution - Tan Tock Seng Hospital  
Pandemic Flu system consolidates and presents critical information of patients for observation purpose during a pandemic. These include information from other systems, such as patient details, specific readings of lab results, dispensed medicine and some manual data entry by the users.

The system comprise of the following modules:
Patient Management:
Patient List
Allow staff to creates, edit and deactivate the list of patients to be monitored.

Patient Query
Allow staff to search for patients of interest and review their records.
Staff can print or export the data in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for further analysis purposes.

Data Interface
Based on this patient list, the system generate and display critical information of the patients by retrieve laboratory data, dispensed medicine data and x-ray reports from various hospital systems by scheduled batch processes or on-demand processes.

                 Professional Fee Solution - National University Hospital & Tan Tock Seng Hospital  
   
A web-base solution that retrieves information from the hospital information system to compute and generate monthly/yearly professional fee reports of all doctors in the institutions.

HODs are able to review the accounting reports for their individual departments.

Individual consultant reports
Doctors are able to view their accounting reports with detail of the services they have provided over the month/year.

Simulation Module
Allow key users to change relevant lookup parameters/tables.
Users then generate reports with these simulated parameters.
Management staffs are able to review these reports and observe the financial impact caused by these changes.

Master Table Management
Allow key users to maintain the critical lookup tables of the system.
They include Service Rates, Professional Grade, and etc.
The system implements a workflow process that comprise of 3 level approvals for any modification on any record of these tables.

Users include payroll/account department and individual doctors.


 
               Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Audit Reports - National Healthcare Group  
 

The system generates EMR management reports for audit purposes.

The reports include:
Reviewing access of VIP records,
Access of “Sensitive” patient information,
Access of records not matched with own doctor’s patient registries,
And etc.

We studied the EMR data, the hospital repository data and several patient data files from various systems. With our experience and good understanding of EMR concept and our knowledge in healthcare IT, we managed to developed efficient jobs that generate complex reports within the defined daily batch job time frame.
